Time

The impossible task
of trying to rewind
the clock;
while your yesterday
is my today;
your night
is my day;
No meeting ground
Time
slipping away
quick sand
through nimble fingers,
whispers in the wind
blown miles away,
forgotten sentiments
missed opportunities
Time lost
is never found

Morning Glory

Thrive in the warmth
of a summer sun;
slide into slumber
in dusky shades;
wilt under
the kiss of frost;
clinging vines
blossoming over trellis;
 coy virgin brides
bashful, fragile,
flaunting pastel finery
in full bloom

Monsoon Romance with Goa

Tempestuous seas, high tides,
Smiling rivers in full spate
joyfully overflowing streams
uplifting a morose mood
Bursts of torrential downpour
making torrid love to parched earth;
passionately trapping
lush green swaying palms
in abject surrender
transforming a loner's paradise
to a hypnotic spell of unison;

Coastal monsoon breeze
bruising soft cheeks
with its intense sting
cold tingling drizzle
spraying fresh drops of rain
on tendrils of tresses
breaking the rendezvous
all too soon
compelling a separation,
reminding me, it was time
for the goodbye kiss

Someday, across the waters
on a sunset cruise
during monsoon,
you will feel soft caresses,
hear voices resounding
Pause awhile, turn around
you will find the soul
that  I left behind
whispering your name.

Oh! Mumbai

Lashing waves
faint drizzle
foggy thoughts
clouding sunrays
veiled by
changed circumstance;
Weeds entwining feet
wanting to sprint
sharp thorns pricking
velvety petals,
Deep ravines
widening distances,
chained melodies
alien sounds
Where are those days
I break free
of strongholds
as your baritone
floats westwards
bridging all gaps
